Verse 1 Samuel 29.29 The Philistines

Jayson Thorpe opinion on Verse 1 Samuel 29.29 The Philistines

In 1 Samuel 29, this chapter talks about how David was rejected by the Philistines and he was sent back to Israel. From the previous chapter philistines gathered their army and declared a battle. Its at this time that they were marching to the rear together with Ashish. The leader of philistine noticed that their was a Hebrew and asked Ashish who he was. Ashish defended him before the leader, he talked of how he found no faults in him. The philistine wanted to kill Israel.

He had joined the philistines and left the land of Israel, that made him find himself in a tough situation among the ungodly , ready to fight God's people. From verse 3 Philistines looked at David and said "They aren't one of us" for he worshiped another God, meaning they don't belong together. For sure David was blind, he wanted to fight God's people "his people" even philistine leader could see that it was not the write thing to for him to go against his people.

Verse (4-5) The philistine leader rejects David because they were afraid David might turn against the philistine in the battle in order to have Saul's favor. The philistine still remembered that he killed Goliath so they feared. In verse (6-7) Ashish tells David to go home, he said to him" surely as the lord lives, you have been reliable and would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. from the day you came to me till now. I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don't approve of you. Turn back and go in peace; do nothing to displease the philistine rulers".

Surely David was not happy being rejected by the philistine considering he had left his people to join philistine for them to reject him. Am sure he was devastated, but Gods used rejection from ungodly people to bring him back. He returns to Israel while philistine army prepares to meet soul. Indeed Gods way are different, he spoke to him in many ways although he did not listen, instead he returned to the land philistine. David being rejected by the philistine was a wake up call for him.

From this chapter we learnt that some times we find ourselves into a difficult situation that causes a

of problems. Some times the problems and difficulties becomes hard to solve but their no impossible situation before God. God loves us and cares for us their is no circumstance that is beyond his control. From the scripture faced rejection and many other hopeless situations that was due to his own short comings and shameful actions, but God is faithful he hold his hand and rescued him. They forced him to march against the people whom God had choose him to rule as a king. When we serve the wrong people in our life's they will always create the problem for us. Its important that we choose the right people in our life and listen to the voice of God.
