Verse Psalm 89.8 Who Is Like You,

Martina Mills opinion on Verse Psalm 89.8 Who Is Like You,

The book of psalms was written by David, Moses and Solomon but most of the chapters were written by David. It is one of the books in the bible which is mostly read and believed by many people. This book mainly consist of prayers and hymns by which people find it to be inspirational.

To begin with, the book of psalms chapter 89 versus 8 says" O Lord God Almighty, who is like you? You are mighty, O Lord, and your faithfulness surrounds you". This scripture was trying to prove that God is all powerful and nothing on this earth can be compared to God.

The Lord Almighty is a title given to God by which many Christians call Him. David calls God Almighty in this verse trying to let you know that the God you are serving has might and power of every living creature and non-living thing on this earth. This is because David believes that God created the Heavens and the earth and so, He has power and dominion over all the things of the earth.

In addition, the statement "who is like you?" explains the true nature of God which no one has. The writer of this verse was trying to compare God's might and His personality to any human or an object on the surface of the earth but realised that there is none that can be compared unto the Lord.

New living translation states that " is there anyone mighty as you are". The writer could not find any human or object as powerful as the Lord. He recognised that God's might and power supercedes all powers of the earth. In the olden days during the reign of king David, people used to worship idols thinking they have power but it was realised that there is none on this earth whose power can be equalised with God's own. He is all powerful and nothing can change this fact. The bible clearly explains God's power in diverse ways.

Furthermore, the final part of the verse which stipulates that " your faithfulness surrounds you " is trying to explain how God faithfulness work. God's faithfulness is biblically explained as an unfailing love and loyalty towards His people. As God is faithful, you are also required to be faithful in all your ways. In other words, you do not have to only believe in Him but rather trust him and loyal to God.

Finally, God you are serving is exhibits unfailing trust and loyalty towards His people and so it is expected of you to also show loyalty and love to God. His faithfulness surrounds Him is trying to indicate that He is so faithful in a sense that it characterize him and explains how He is. He is faithful to all and therefore it is demanded of you to be faithful like He is.

Psalms chapter 89 in the old testament tries to explain the true nature of God. He is mighty and as a result rules over the earth. His faithfulness towards mankind is unquestionable and it is expected that you show your faithfulness to Him as He is.
